Parking, which is the local variable
The terraced streets near the town centre and around the university have no driveways and fill up early. We start early and keep the vehicle moving rather than blocking a road for three hours. Where a bay genuinely needs suspending the council usually wants the application from the occupier, and we will tell you if yours is one of those.
Out at Thorpe Acre, Shelthorpe and the newer estates the parking is easy and the carry from the road can be the longer part. In the Charnwood villages the lane sometimes decides the vehicle, and we look before allocating one.
Leaving Loughborough
Junction 23 is a couple of minutes away, which makes a long move out of here start on a motorway rather than a ring road — genuinely quicker than from most Midlands towns. What is in a house removal quote?
The vehicle and crew, blankets and covers, floor and door-frame protection, and taking apart and rebuilding what will not pass a door in one piece. Packing is priced separately because households want very different amounts of it.
Do I need a survey?
On anything above a one-bed it is worth twenty minutes. It is free, it fixes the volume, and in a town with this much terraced housing it settles the parking question before the morning rather than during it.
Will one vehicle do it?
A three-bed at Thorpe Acre with a driveway, usually yes. The same contents out of a terrace off Ashby Road with no parking may need a different plan. The survey answers it rather than the afternoon answering it for us.
Is the loft coming?
Worth deciding before you ask us. Lofts and garages are where quotes go wrong — they hold more than anyone remembers and they are slow to empty. Tell us and the number is the real one.
What about new-build completions?
Common on the estates round the edges of town, and worth planning carefully because new-build handover times slip more than most. We build slack into the day rather than booking the crew tight against a handover hour.
