A lot of them. The university makes late June and mid-September the two busiest weeks of our year, and those slots go early. A room and a few boxes is quick once we know the floor, the block and where a van can legally stand.
Yes, with an early start. Those streets have no driveways and fill with parked cars by mid-morning, so we load early and keep the vehicle moving rather than blocking a road for three hours.
Quorn, Barrow upon Soar, Mountsorrel, Sileby, Woodhouse Eaves, Rothley and the lanes between them. Some approaches are narrow enough that we check them before allocating a full-size vehicle — that check is free and it prevents the bad mornings.

Four things: how much is going, the access at both ends, how much packing you want done, and how far it travels. Nothing else. If you are comparing quotes, check both have measured the same volume — that is where most of the gap between two numbers lives.
No. On anything above a single room it is worth twenty minutes, because it fixes the volume and settles the access questions. Video works fine if you have already moved out.
Timing and stairs, mostly. Halls and shared houses release on fixed days, so everybody moves at once, and almost everything is up two or three flights with a shared front door. We send more hands rather than fewer and we book the slot rather than improvising it.

Regularly on the estates round the edges of town. The thing to know is that new-build completion times slip more than most, so we plan the day with that in mind rather than booking the crew tight against a handover hour.
Campus deliveries usually run to the institution's own access rules and time windows rather than ours. Tell us what you have been given and we will work to it — turning up outside a permitted window is the commonest way a campus move goes wrong.
For anything leaving the area, yes, and helpfully so — junction 23 puts the motorway network right on the doorstep, which makes a long move out of Loughborough quicker to start than from most Midlands towns. Local traffic on the A6 and A512 at peak times matters more day to day.
Beds, wardrobes, table legs and flat-pack that will not clear a staircase — yes, and we rebuild at the other end. Anything plumbed, wired or fitted in we leave to the relevant trade.
Goods in transit and storage cover are both in place, with the usual conditions around owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value. Flag anything genuinely valuable at survey and we will confirm in writing what applies.
The load stays on the vehicle or goes into store overnight rather than onto a pavement. We tell you plainly what that means for the booking at the time rather than sending a surprise invoice.
Small commercial work — offices in the town centre, units on the industrial estates, studio and workshop space. Out of hours usually makes most sense so the business loses the least trading time.
Yes. Two households merging, a storage unit emptied on the way, or a student room plus a family home. Mention both in the brief so the route and timing are costed properly.
As soon as you have a date, even provisional. Term-end weeks and month-ends go first. Holding a slot costs nothing; finding a crew at three days' notice in late June is another matter.
Cartons, paper and blankets go back with us as a matter of course. Clearing a loft or garage of things you are not taking is a separate job and we price it separately rather than folding it in quietly.
We do, from the survey inventory. Since the UK left the EU a household move needs a proper packing list and the destination country's transfer-of-residence process, and each of the four differs. We tell you what has to come from you, and when.
